BBQ Pork Chops
Here’s a flavorful BBQ Pork Chop recipe using R Family Farms’ pasture-raised pork chops, perfect for grilling or pan-searing!
Ingredients:
-
4 bone-in R Family Farms pork chops (1 to 1.5 inches thick)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the BBQ Marinade:
-
1/2 cup ketchup
-
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
-
2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
-
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Pork Chops:
Rub the pork chops with olive oil and season both sides with salt and pepper. Set aside. -
Make the BBQ Marinade:
In a bowl, whisk together ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey (or brown sugar), Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), black pepper, and salt. Mix well until smooth. -
Marinate the Pork Chops:
Place the pork chops in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour half of the BBQ marinade over the pork chops, ensuring they are well-coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor). -
Grill or Pan-Sear the Chops:
-
Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the pork chops from the marinade and discard the excess. Grill the pork chops for 5-6 minutes per side, brushing occasionally with the reserved marinade, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
-
Pan-Searing: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil, then sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side, basting with the reserved marinade, until they reach 145°F.
-
-
Rest and Serve:
Once the pork chops are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. -
Serve with Extra BBQ Sauce:
Serve the chops with any remaining BBQ marinade on the side for dipping, along with your favorite sides like coleslaw, roasted vegetables, or corn on the cob.
Tips:
-
For extra tenderness, you can brine the pork chops for 30 minutes to an hour in saltwater before marinating.
-
Add a smoky flavor by using wood chips on the grill.
Enjoy these juicy and flavorful BBQ pork chops, perfect for a fall cookout!
